The Founder’s Vision

Meet Our Founder: LTC (Ret.) Hope Jackson

Hope M. Jackson is a native Floridian. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Troy State University and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 1989. 2LT Jackson’s first duty assignment was at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas where she had a myriad of duty assignments from 1990-1995. In 1990 she deployed to South West Asia in support of the first Gulf War. During her tenure at Ft. Bliss she was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1994.

In 1995 CPT Jackson was reassigned to Suwon Air Base in Suwon, Korea, from 1995-1997 where she commanded two Air Defense Artillery (PATRIOT) Batteries. After serving thirty-three months in Korea she was assigned to the Army Test and Evaluations Command (ATEC) in Alexandria, VA. There she was the Senior Evaluations Officer for a multi-billion-dollar Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP).

In October 2000 CPT Jackson was promoted to the rank of Major and transferred to the Acquisition Corps. In June 2001 Hope was reassigned to the Defense Supply Center-Richmond (DSCR), VA where she served as Procurement Branch Chief. During Hope’s tenure at the Center she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Averett University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

In 2002 while serving at DSCR Major Jackson was deployed to Kosovo. During this tour of duty God vividly revealed to her His purpose for her life. Hope asked the Lord to grant her 20 years of honorable service; and vowed that she would retire at that time and do the work He purposed her to do.

In September 2005 Major Jackson was reassigned to the Army Contracting Agency (ACA) and deployed to Riyadh Saudi Arabia as the Director of Contracting. In October 2006 Major Jackson was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. While serving in the Middle East the Lord inspired her to pioneer a Women’s Ministry that would provide spiritual as well as emotional support to the women stationed there.

In January 2007 Lieutenant Colonel Jackson was assigned to the Operational Test Command (OTC) at Ft. Bliss, TX where she served as Test Division Chief; responsible for billions of dollars in assets. This was the final tour of her 20-year military career. Lieutenant Colonel Jackson’s official retirement date was April 30, 2010. Upon retirement, Hope made El Paso her permanent home.

In May 2010 “The H.O.P.E. Institute (H.I)” was founded and received its 501c3 designation in June 2012. H I’s debut initiative to open El Paso’s first home exclusively for homeless female Veterans was fulfilled on January 1, 2017. The home is affectionately known as the Rutherford House of Peace (HoP). H.I provides the life skills and resources required for our She-Roes to transition from a place of dependency to one of self-sufficiency.

In April 2016 Hope joined the newly formed El Paso Chapter of the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professional (VAREP) where she served as Vice President. VAREP is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate Veterans on the home-buying process including the benefits of using their VA loan. In April 2017, September 2019, January 2022, and June 2023 Hope Jackson was inducted into the El Paso Women’s Hall of Fame, appointed by the El Paso City Councilwoman for District 2 to serve on the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee (VAAC), appointed to serve as Chairperson for the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Committee at the Greater El Paso Association of Realtors (GEPAR), and appointed to The Continuum of Care (CoC) Board where she also served as Chair (The CoC is the premier organization serving the needs of the homeless in El Paso County) respectively.
